Betty George Jones

Betty George Jones, age 83 of Lipscomb passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013. Worked at Bob Sykes Barbeque for 17 years and then retired from Bessemer City School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Jones, infant son Jimmy Jones, and grandson John William Jones. She is survived by her three children; Deborah Kirby (Max), David Jones (Susie), and Darryl Jones (Marie), seven grandchildren; Farrol (Kathy), Jason (Rhonda), Krisi (Shane), Nikki (Bradley), Dusty (Kelli), Tim, Kaitlin (Jake), eleven Great-grandchildren; Tommy, Katie, Mackenzie, Mason, Caleb, Carter, Londyn, Grayson, Lyric, Claire, and Sawyer. She is also survived by sister Frances Williams, brother Buddy George (Bebe), sister-in-law Esteen Jones of Georgia, and brother-in-law Edward Jones (Norma) of Texas. Her service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
