Joyce Lyles Emerson, a cherished and devoted mother, passed away on October 17th, 2015 surrounded by her children. She showed a committed and unwavering faith in her Lord. She is predeceased by her loving husband of sixty eight years, Amon Emerson; sons, Ronald and Brian Emerson; brother, Tom Lyles; and sisters, Becky Hendon, Diane Rowand, Joan Lee, and Jane Davenport. Survivors include daughters, Sheila Satcher (Donald), Jennifer Loupe; sons, Don Emerson, Amon Emerson Jr. (Jackie); sixteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; brothers, Minor, Wayne, Usry, and Raymond Lyles; sister, Sarah Bearden; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Elmwood Chapel on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
