Angelina Giovino Cascio

Angelina Giovino Cascio, born June 13, 1930, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Sam and Josephine Giovino. Ms. Cascio was a graduate of Birmingham Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Science and Biology. She worked for University Hospital in the Department of Biology until she retired to take care of her then ailing father. After her father’s death, she continued serving others with her many deeds of kindness. She loved animals and always said, “they were God’s creatures too”. She is survived by several relatives. Her wish, after death, is to thank those who helped and cared for her over the years: Wayne, Lisa and Eva Hobson, Ellen Sheumaker, Josie Simonetti, Grady Smith, Lisa Hodges, Dr. James Whatley and the Camelia Medical Group, Atarah Waldorp, Harold Cunningham and Ricky Baldone. Special thanks to AMADA Senior Care and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice Team. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
