HURST, ANDREW JACKSON “JACK”, born July 12, 1929. A loving husband, attentive father and grandfather, faithful and loyal friend, man of God who slipped from this world into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. Jack was a skilled carpenter who worked in the home construction industry for over 50 years. He also held the seat of a county commissioner in Brevard County, Florida from 1966 to 1972. He will be sorely missed by his surviving wife, Constance “Connie” Hurst; son, Derek Hurst (Roseanne); daughters, Jennifer Elliott (Alex) and Beth Cooper (Chris); 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brenda Pequignot. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 4-8 PM at his home in Center Point. Friends and family are welcome to come by and share in food and fond memories of our precious Jack. Graveside service will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo on Monday, June 22, 2020 beginning at 11:45. Please be at the cemetery by 11:30. If you wish to send flowers to the funeral home, please send plants that can be put in the ground. A memorial garden will be planted at his home due to the fact that flowers are not allowed at the National Cemetery.
