Amy June Hadaway Baker, 44, was called to her heavenly home on January 8, 2021 very unexpectedly. Amy had a real love for people and would express her love by text or phone call when they needed it most.
Amy was born on April 8, 1976 in North East Alabama. Her early years were complicated but at the age of 3 she was adopted, with her biological sister Stacie, by Roy and June Hadaway of Calera, Alabama. She was raised to love the Lord, with all of her heart, knowing that God is with you always. She accepted Christ, as her Savior, at a young age and was baptized at Calera Baptist Church. She graduated from Calera High School in 1995. Amy attended Mitchell Cosmetology and worked as a local cosmetologist.
Amy’s pride and joy is her son Tommy. She loved and cared for him so much. Being 11 years old, she would want Tommy to always know she loved him so much and that she wants him to use his extreme wisdom and God given strength, to achieve great things while on this earth. Her spirit will always surround Tommy with her love. She would want Tommy to know that God is His refuge and his strength. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” Proverbs 3:5-6.
Amy had such a caring personality and she was such a thoughtful person. If you were in need, she would communicate and send you encouragements to help get you through those rough days. What a blessing to those that knew her and crossed her path.
Amy is survived by her son Tommy Baker (11) of Calera, sister Stacie Hadaway Humber (Michael) of Birmingham, brother Mark Hadaway (Corrine) of Des Moines, Iowa, nephew Blake Lockhart (Natalie Odgers) of Birmingham, Tommy’s father Tom Baker of Calera, surrogate mothers Frances Anthony, Geraldine Hicks, and Charlotte Patrick of Calera, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Amy was predeceased by her parents Roy and June Hadaway of Calera, and niece Lindsay Lockhart of Birmingham.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a celebration of Amy’s life will be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to assist with Tommy. A previously established Trust is maintained by Larry Hicks as Trustee:
