Katherine A. Ford

Katherine A. Ford, Plattsburgh: Katherine A. Ford passed away peacefully surrounded by family April 27 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, John; and her parents, Frederick & Josephine Noonan; three brothers, Billy, Fred & Leo; infant daughter, Leeann; and grandson, Micah. She is survived by her children: daughter, Judy (Pat) Sheridan, John Ford, Mary (Jeff) Jones, Susan (Bob) Kermidas, Colleen Gayton, Chris (Ann) Ford; grandchildren, Kye, Dyllon, Bert, Dan, James, Ben, Anna; great-grandchild, Evie; and dear friend, Emma Russell. Katie met the love of her life, Jack, at a JC Pavilion dance, and they continued dancing into their 70's during the course of a very happy 60 year marriage. She was a graduate of St. Paul's and was employed by the Liebowitch Law Firm as a secretary and court stenographer until the birth of their first child. While raising their 6 children she also worked from home utilizing her secretarial skills to assist her husband at his second job. Katie had many varied interests which included: aerobics, Altar Rosary Society, bowling, bridge club, cotillion and home bureau; she and Jack enjoyed travel in their later years. Family was very important to Katie, and she loved being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Katie will be greatly missed for her love, support, never-ending energy, and humor. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery.
