Bradford F. Gray passed away Monday, January 24th in the home he lovingly built and lived in for more than 40 years. He was 79 years old. To those that knew and loved him he was known simply as Brad, a name that became synonymous with kindness, strength, and dependability.
A native of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Brad moved to Binghamton with his parents when his father took a job with the chamber of commerce. The Gray’s settled in Chenango Bridge, where Brad later met Connie Williams. They wed in May 1966 and have remained residents of the Chenango Bridge community ever since. Together they had 3 children, Chris, Brian and Victoria.
Throughout their 55-year marriage they enjoyed time with family and friends, and were active members of the United Methodist Church of Chenango Bridge. Their home was a place of peace and joy, where the porch was a common gathering place filled with food, laughter, and good conversation. Brad enjoyed the outdoors no matter the season, skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and spending time amid the mountains and lakes of New England year round, particularly at his treasured Lake Monomonac. It has also been said that Brad never met an ice cream cone he didn’t like.
Brad is predeceased by his parents Laura and Francis Gray and survived by his younger brother Stephen (Kathy) Gray, wife Connie,and children Chris (Tracey), Brian (Irene), and Victoria (Adam Shutts), as well as six grandchildren Mya, Mason, Brad, Aidan, Henry, and Katie. Brad also had numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30am at the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, 40 River Road, Binghamton, NY 13901.
