Stanley R. ‘Rex’ Sheppard, 79 of Inverness, Florida died on Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on Friday, July 5, 1935 to Meade and Carrie (Ferguson) Sheppard. Rex was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Beverly Hills Community Church, the American Legion Post, a life member of the D.A.V. and he enjoyed playing bingo. Rex moved to this area 21 years ago from Evanston, Illinois.
Rex was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sheppard.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janet E. Sheppard of Inverness, Florida; one son and one daughter; brother, James Sheppard of Crystal River, Florida and brother-in-laws, Luther Garrett and wife Elaine of Tennessee and Walter Campbell of Illinois.
