Sheila G. Mandell, 74 of Lecanto, Florida died on Friday, October 8, 2021. She was born in Leeds, England on April 12, 1947 to John Hamilton and Gladys Owen. Sheila and her late husband Carey were married on August 16, 1969 in Harrogate, England. They enjoyed traveling together and made their final move from Woodstock, Maryland to Lecanto, Florida in 2001. They enjoyed going on cruises together, attending car events and frequenting the beach. Sheila was a passionate writer and had four books published under her pen name, April Hamilton, including one that would share her life story, "A Baby Boomer's Journey". Sheila suffered from multiple health ailments but her strong faith always pulled her through. She was a long standing member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, Florida. She was especially appreciative of the visits she received from her church family as it became harder for her to attend in person. She loved spending time with her friends and family and was an amazing wife, mom, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will truly be missed.
Survivors include son Mark Mandell, wife Michele and grandsons Thomas and Tyler, of Midlothian, Virginia, her sister Margaret Boothe and husband Howard of Yorkshire England, Step-brother David Maddison and wife Gretel and daughter Rachel of Colchester, England.
