He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on March 29, 1940.
Bob graduated from Mount St. Charles High School, Woonsocket, RI and received a B.S., M.S. and PhD from Providence College, Stanford and R.P.I., respectively.
He was married to Leslie D. Martineau (Jope) on July 15, 1978.
Bob worked as a physicist for NASA Goddard Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. He had a passion for physics, plants, and science fiction.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie D. Martineau, sons Jason Martineau and Justin Martineau, grandchild Seraphina Martineau, brothers Harvey Martineau and John Martineau.
A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Fero Memorial Gardens, 5891 N Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
