Dad, I miss you so much. I keep you with me at all times and I can't wait to be able to watch another Yankees game together again. My best friend, my safe place to be has always been you dad. Dream with the angels.

We went to school together. He was one of the good ones may god watch over him and his family.  

I'm so sorry to hear this. I think of Mike often (actually I think of Fish) and when I found out about his passing I was very upset we had not reconnected.

I have great memories of hanging out with him, watching him knock softballs out of the park, being the center of the crowd when the team met after the game, and just being bigger than life. (For the record I didn't play...just the games were that much fun to watch.)

I lost touch with Mike after he left the port but often remember times we had hanging out, fixing up his house with the girls, the nickname, Cowboy, his youngest daughter gave me and many more stories.

Prayers of comfort for all of the family. As you know, he was special and the memories we all will hold are as well.

Thanks for that story Stephen.

To the entire Fisher family, my condolences!

I was always fond of Mike, he was an outstanding 3 sport athlete: (football, basketball, baseball). Mike being my senior by 2 years ; there was always something to learn from an upperclassman.  Mike went about his business in the right way, loving and honoring his crafts, while adding the greatest sense of humor to keep things light in tense situations.

One year, as I was playing JV baseball, I had to catch a varsity game because our varsity catcher Wayne Korn got hurt.
Mike was pitching, and I was having a tough time handling him because I had little experience with Mike as a pitcher.

A couple of balls got away from me during the first inning, (Mike was witty an intense competitor, I watched him give his varsity teammates a good talking too if they were not pulling their weight) I was sure when that first inning ended he was going to read me a riot act when we came into the dugout.

Instead, he came up to me knowing I was a bit nervous and outcome his sarcastic humor /fun  side.  His playfulness relaxed  me and I approach the rest of the game much more settled. Mike had the appropriate foresight. Wether we on to win the game or not was insignificant, from that point on I gained further respect for Mike. 

The following summer we played together in an open division, he came in to help our usual squad, Mike and I would often carpool, we had the such fun times, he was hilarious and a great teammate!
