Michael J. Duke

Michael J. Duke, 81 of Beverly Hills Florida died on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the loving care of his family. He was born in Yonkers, New York on Wednesday March 4th, 1936 to Michael and Helen (Brach) Duke. Mike was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired police officer with the Yonkers Police Department. Mike devoted his life to his family and honoring our Blessed Mother. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, where he was head of the Blue Army for many years. He was also a member of the Legion of Mary and the Knights of Columbus and was very involved in the "Right to Life". He spent many hours volunteering with the Alzheimers patients not to mention all of the many hours he spent taking care of his family and friends. Mike enjoyed being outdoors and loved playing with his many grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael A. Duke and Helen Duke , his sister Louise Doyle and his brother Robert Duke.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 62 years, Patrica (Darcy ) Duke of Beverly Hills, Florida, his brother Ronald Duke (Rhoda) of Palm Coast, Florida. Also survived by his daughter Cathleen Mead (Brian) of Ridgefield, CT, daughter Ellen Duke (Kenny) of Beverly Hills, Florida , daughter Patricia Odell (Douglas) of Arkville, New York, son Michael J. Duke (Wendy) of Willmington, North Carolina, daughter Sharon Shuluk (Greg) of Hopewell Junction, New York and son Brian Duke (Michelle) of Beverly Hills, Florida. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass, Wednesday , January 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Fero Memorial Gardens. The Family is asking in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Citrus County Hospice in Florda.
