Loretta (Hussman) Ashley of Beverly Hills, FL. and Barnstead, NH, died on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Milford Regional Hospital surrounded by the love of her devoted children. She was the beloved wife of The Late George Ashley III. Loretta enjoyed crafting, gardening, square dancing, and attending craft shows with her husband.
Born in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of The Late Peter Hussman and stepdaughter of The Late Anthony Ostrowski and is survived by mother Myrtle M. Ostrowski of Nantucket, MA. She was a 1956 graduate of North Haven High School and was selected as Miss Greater Hamden in a local pageant. Loretta married Sidney Mancovsky in North Haven, CT in October 1959, moved to Woburn, MA, and then to Nantucket, MA in 1963. She resided in Nantucket for 8 years and then moved to Centerville, MA for another 13 years. She married her second husband George Ashley III in Centerville, MA and lived in Pittsfield, MA for 8 years, and then Barnstead, NH and Citrus Hills, FL until their death.
Survivors include her mother, Myrtle Ostrowski of Nantucket; a sister, Carol Corkish of Nantucket; son Jeffrey Mancovsky and wife Barbara of Lakeville, MA; daughter Lynne Callinan and husband John of Uxbridge, MA; daughter Heather Leonard and husband Steve of Plainville, MA; daughter Amy Rezendes and husband Lou of Marion, MA; grandchildren Justin and Reed Mancovsky; Joshua and Hannah Callinan; Owen, Dylan, Aidan and Colin Leonard and Sheldon and Kenyon Rezendes; stepdaughter Gayle Bieluch and husband Phillip of Farmington, CT and two step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Aug. 13, 2011 at First Congregational Church, Nantucket, MA and Floral Park Cemetery on Aug. 20, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Pittsfield, NH. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
