Joseph Ciaramitaro went to be with our Lord and Savior on November 17, 2023 while under the loving care of his wife, Michelle Ciaramitaro, and Vitas Hospice. Joe was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 14, 1949 and was the oldest of five boys.
He worked as a welder in the Boston Nava Shipyard, but it wasn’t until he started teaching that he found his true passion. Teaching allowed him to spend his summer vacations with his former wife, Vicki, and daughter, Georgette. In his midlife he moved to Lecanto, Florida, where he continued teaching and was the only teacher awarded recognition as the national teacher of the year, twice, by the American Welding Society. Both times he was nominated for the award by students who lovingly called him Mr. C. He also met and married Michelle and together they raised daughter, Nichole. He was blessed with the honor of walking both girls down the aisle on their wedding days. Joe had many interests throughout his life. His former father-in-law got him involved in the Masonic Lodge, where he worked his way through the ranks and became a past master of his Lodge. Later in life, he transitioned into becoming a Shriner. He loved all animals, but nothing came close to how he felt about his last dog, Lovey. He loved boating and traveling.
Joe loved spending time with family, especially big family events hosted by his sister-in-law, Debbie, and son-in-law, Adam’s mother Janet. He loved Adam like a son. Joe will be missed by his wife, Michelle, his brother Stephen, daughters Georgette (Jim) and Nichole, Nichole’s husband, Adam, and three grandsons, Raja, Luke, and Cutler. He will also be missed by the many students he taught over his long career, and his work family at Withlacoochee Technical College.
Services will be held on Saturday December 2nd at St. Anne’s Church on Fort Island Trail in Crystal River, Florida. A viewing will be held at the church at 11:30 with a reception to follow in the church hall from noon to 1:00 PM. Mass will follow at 1:00 PM in the church followed by a graveside interment at Fero Memorial Gardens located at 5891 N Lecanto Hwy Beverly Hills, FL 34465
