Jean F. ( McKnight) Moody 83 years old Citrus springs, FL Was born on August 6, 1934 and passed November 19, 2017 Jean was the eldest child of Esley and Margaret McKnight born Aug.6 1934 in Stoneham MA. Who knew a blind date would lead to meeting the love of her life. One problem, he wasn't her date, oh well minor problem to fix, six months later they were married in Stoneham, Mass and were together for 59 years. Together they were blessed with three children Steven, Linda and James. They moved to an enchanted place in Marlborough, Connecticut. We called the it "the block", it was a village of many friends and neighbors whom together raised many children with love and support and of course amazing block parties. Family was most important to Jean, the many family trips to Northern Maine laid a foundation of hard work and fun which they leave as their legacy, the camp in Weston Maine. Winters were spent together snowmobiling in the Berkshires and summers in Ashaway ,Rhode Island. Quilting was a every day thing in Jeans life, not so much cleaning up the house as we all know. But if you are lucky enough to have a quilt then your lucky enough to have felt Jean's love.
She learned to golf in Florida, where she spent many days on the golf course with her husband and dear friends. She joined many auxiliaries, the American Legion post 197 in Marlborough Ct, Marlborough Volunteer Fire Dept., VFW in Citrus Springs FL, and the Red Hatters (or Citrus Sassies). She lived ,she loved , and she celebrated a full and rich life. Jean was predeceased by her husband Richard W Moody on May 7 2013. Behind but not forgotten are her family Steven Moody and his two children Brett Moody and Kraig Moody. Linda Myers and her four girls, Alexa Gattinella, Allison Gattinella, Amber Myers, and Abby Myers. James Moody his wife Heidi Moody and their children Matt Moody and Becky Moody. Two sisters Ellen Smith and Susan Sandborn. Many life long friends, cousins, sisters, nieces and nephews and people who loved her. But there was no greater love than the love Jean had for pasta, may there be abundant pasta in heaven. Services will be held at the family's discretion in Weston, Maine some time in the spring of 2018. Thank you hospice of Citrus County for loving our mother as you would love your own.
Arrangements under the direction of Fero Funeral Home with Crematory, Beverly Hills, FL.
