George D. Troester Sr.

George D. Troester, 84, passed away peacefully on March, 31, 2016 at home, under hospice care, surrounded by his family. George was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 24, 1932. He moved to Amherst, NY in 1956, lived there until retirement in 1994, then relocated to Hernando Florida, where he has resided for the last 21 years.

George enjoyed playing pool, and was well known at local pool tournaments. He spent a lot of time in his workshop building matchstick creations including guitars, birdhouses, banks, small villages and many more items. George enjoyed fishing and camping and drove his camper to Buffalo, NY each year, spending summers with his children, grandchildren and friends.

George is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Rita; his children Maureen (Mitch) Carolus, George (Loretta ) Troester, Linda Tilton, Lisa Troester, Michele Tester and David Troester; stepchildren Deanna (David) Skinner, Colleen Urbaniak, Joe Urbaniak; a brother Robert Troester, sister Mary Ann (Danny) Coyle. He has 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his; son Brian Troester; daughters Angela Troester Meadows, Karen Troester Bayer; stepson Michael Urbaniak and brother William Troester.

The family will receive family and friends at Fero Funeral Home 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL. on Monday April 4, 2016 from 2 - 4 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow at 4 pm.
