On April 8th, 2024, Frank Mattera III departed this earth at 4:12 pm just before the historic Solar Eclipse came to an end. Frank hailed from Rochelle, IL and leaves behind his life partner, dance partner and best friend Christina Skinner and the beloved kitties and dog.
Frank served in the United States Army, Sgt MP. He would make mention of friendships he touched base with throughout his years i.e., Rita Caskey; Phil Morrison and his spouse Nancy; Gene Reid and his spouse Mary and Donna Kenaday.
Frank was an athlete, accomplished body builder and ballroom dancer and enjoyed interacting with his gym and ballroom dancing buddies, trainers/instructors and acquaintances. Frank earned a master's degree from Western Illinois University in health education and was the Collier County Tobacco Prevention Coordinator managing grant funded programs. He studied for a PhD in health (without dissertation) and taught special needs children in Citrus County before he retired.
Frank enjoyed quaint Citrus County with its abounding elements of nature. He lived a good life by his design. Private ceremony.
