Dorothy O. Mensing

Dottie was a homemaker and formerly of Farmingdale, NY where she was very involved with her community. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Woman’s Club of Farmingdale, Idle Hour Tennis Club and the Auxiliary Woman’s Club of South Farmingdale Fire Dept. Dottie enjoyed played bridge and participated in a weekly card club that played Hand and Foot. She moved to Florida in 1993 and joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hernando.

Dottie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert G. Mensing, MD and brother, George Osborn, Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth G. (Kenneth Dyer, Jr.) Mensing and James R. (Aimee Branham) Mensing; sister-in-law, Louise Osborn; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 2-5 pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Fero Life Celebration Lodge, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills. A Funeral Service will be at 11 am, Thursday, June 23 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 East Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando, FL 34442 with Pastor Dennis W. Koch officiating. Dottie will be laid to rest with her husband at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY on Friday, July 8, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dottie’s memory to Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind in your area.
