Barbara Ann Wendler

She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on August 23rd, 1937. Her family moved to Miami Beach, FL. Barbara graduated from Miami Beach High School where she met her spouse, Harry Wendler.

Barbara worked recording background music for her father’s business, Fidelity Music Company.

She was a member of Pine Ridge Civic Center and wrote the Pine Ridge Post newsletter. Harry and Barb started the Pine Ridge environmental committee, whose members checked building lots before bulldozing to rescue tortoises, foxes, squirrels, owls and hawks. Her passion was animals. And always ended the newsletter with “Remember they were here first.”

Barbara is survived by her daughter Cari Lynn Mateo. Three grandchildren Emilio Jr., Duran and Sarah, and 3 Great grandchildren – two great granddaughters and one great grandson, and her sister Karen Marcus

A visitation for Barbara will be held Saturday, December 9th, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465, a memorial service starting at 1:00PM with a reception to follow.
