Bill is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Darla Wilson; mother-in-law Donnie Hill; children Jonathan Wilson (Kristin), Larissa Wilson, and Leslie Kloeckner (Rick); grandchildren Aidan Wilson, Eloise Wilson, Nadine Wilson, and Pearl Wilson. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry, and his parents Virginia and George.
Bill grew up in Kansas City and attended Rockhurst High School. He went on to study at the University of Dallas and Rockhurst College, earning a degree in nursing. Bill spent his career as a psychiatric nurse, helping and caring for people in need.
Bill loved nature and enjoyed fishing. He had a deep affection for wildlife and animals. He was a big fan of John Denver, The Beatles, and Paul Simon, and he cherished his time in the Rocky Mountains. Bill also had a great love for the sciences, including space, national parks, and life sciences. He enjoyed watching the original Star Trek and had a fondness for Folgers coffee and gummy candy.
Bill had a sharp wit and a kind heart. He always wanted to help people who were struggling with mental health issues. His compassion and sense of humor will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on August 17 from 1-2 PM at Frontline Downtown Church, 1104 N Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73103.
