Wanda Lee (Parker) Meeks passed away peacefully on November 29, 2015 at the age of 91. Wanda was born on March 29, 1924 in Delaware Arkansas to John and Nannie Parker. She married J. D. Meeks on February7, 1943, in Oklahoma City. Wanda and J. D. built the first house in the Village on Westchester Drive where together they raised their three children. Wanda graduated from high school at the age of 16 and moved to Oklahoma City where she joined the legions of Rosie the Riveters. Wanda was an accomplished homemaker, gardener and seamstress, all of which gave her great pleasure well into her 80’s. She was a licensed beautician and owned her own beauty salon for many years in Britton, Oklahoma and later in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her 6 siblings, as well as her husband J.D. She is survived by her son, Jim D. Meeks, Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Sharonn Meeks of Seattle, Washington and daughter, Patty Meeks Estes of Redmond, Washington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great grand children, all living the Norman Oklahoma area. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Friday, December 4, 2015 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City.
