Walter Junior Cochran, 90, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma fulfilled his mission, and left his earthly home on August 23, 2017. Walter was born to Walter Samuel and Della Frances (Bonham) Cochran on August 3, 1927 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Walter, became a farmer at the age of nine, and he was thrilled when he got his first ride behind the plow. Walter served in the Merchant Marines and was also an Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Walter spent time working as a logger in Oregon and in Colorado working in a mine. During his years as a Truck Driver and Welder, Walter worked for American Trailer, Time DC Freight and Presto Welding Supply. Walter and his wife Doris became members of Portland Avenue Baptist Church more than 50yrs ago, where he served as a Deacon, Bus Driver and Handyman. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Doris, 2 sons, Mark Cochran and wife Margie, Ricky Cochran and wife Lynn, and 1 daughter Vicky Cassady. Walter is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah, Amber, Matthew, Sara, Mellissa, and Tiffany, 2 great grandchildren, Gunnar and Claire, 1 brother, Marvin Cochran and Wife Joy of Atoka.Walter is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Susan Michelle,and 2 sisters, Elma Honerkamp, and Cledith Gayheart.
