Viola Mae Harrington peacefully reunited with her parents and daughter surrounded by love at the age of 79 in Oklahoma City, OK on April 13th, 2019. She was born in Stroud, to parents Cecil Prophet Thomas and Cleota Marietta Maynard-Thomas. She spent her younger years on a farm with brothers, Vernon and Robert, and sister, Linda. She attended school in Milfay, Oklahoma and later began her fulfilling 21-year career at Western Electric. Viola was provider and caretaker for her and Bill's three children: Billie Kae, Iris, and Robert. She was well known to friends, family, and community simply as Grandma and was tremendously cherished. She truly lived life to the fullest, spending her free days shopping for shoes, purses, and turquoise jewelry; and her late nights with family watching scary movies and eating her favorite food, Ice cream. Her compassion and selfless nature will be greatly missed by her siblings: Vernon Lee, Robert Earl Thomas, and Linda Kay Niccum; her children: Iris Marie Waters and Robert Murray Harrington; her grandchildren: Aaron and Chad Barrett, Lindsey, Kyle, Tawney, Mindy, Danial and David Harrington; her great-granddaughters: Daisy Barrett and Lexi Mae Atwood. A Christian service will be held on Friday April 19th, 2019 at New Covenant Church in Stroud, OK at noon. She will be laid to rest at Stroud Cemetery among friends and family.
