Theodore Jack Rothner (92) from Norman, OK died on July 26, 2021, in OKC. He was born on November 16, 1928 in Durant, OK to Julius Theodore Rothner and Joy Davis Rothner. He was one of four children. He was married on February 20,1949 to the love of his life, Violet Nadine Blackmon, they were married at Theodore’s parents home at 2825 NW 12th in OKC. They met at Portland Avenue Baptist Church and fell deeply in love. Ted, as most folks called him, began running movies at the old Rodeo Theater in Packing-Town at the age of 16, then at the age of 21, he went to work at Okla. Natural Gas Co. and worked there for 37 years before Retiring in 1986. During this time, he joined the Marines in war time (Korean War) 1952 - 1954. Ted was a train enthusiast, his father, Julius Theodore worked for Katy Railroad for 53 years, which instilled the love of trains in Ted. After Ted was married, he started collecting N-gauge trains and built a train board with track, buildings, tunnels, etc. Then he built what the family called a “Train House” in the backyard. Ted and Violet had a baby boy on April 22, 1955, Lonnie Theodore Rothner and a baby girl on July 26, 1960, Lori Ellen Rothner. Sometime after the kids had grown and got married, Ted graduated to the O-gauge trains, which are quite a bit bigger and built a bigger train table with all the bells and whistles, he collected Thousands of dollars worth of trains, but that was his hobby. Ted also used to fly model airplanes, but always wanted someone else to land them. (LOL). Ted is survived by Daughter, Lori Miller and husband Colonel of OKC; Grandchildren, Ryan Elizabeth Rothner Dymond and husband Evan of Edmond, OK, Anthony Kyle Miller of Bethany, OK, Brandon Chase Miller of Yukon, OK.; Great Grandchildren, Asher Gray Miller of Bethany, OK, Caden Drew Dymond, Kyleigh Addison Dymond and Daxton Leo Dymond, all of Edmond, OK; Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Ted is predeceased by: Spouse, Violet Nadine Rothner; Son, Lonnie T. Rothner; Grand daughter, Rachel Addison Rothner; Siblings: Brother, Frank Rothner, Brother, James Kenneth Rothner, Sister, Patsy Jean Rothner Rhodes; Parents - Julius Theodore Rothner and Joy Davis Rothner. And many in-Laws.
