Robert Gene Klopfenstein, age 80, of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024. Robert Gene Klopfenstein, age 80, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was born February 4, 1944 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Jack and Arlene (Moody) Klopfenstein. Bob grew up in Arapaho with his 2 brothers. He joined the United States Army in 1965 and served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1967. Bob married the love of his life, Ophelia Webb, in 1967 and they enjoyed almost 60 years of love, laughter, and family. He worked as a Fire Fighter in Warr Acres for 25 years, retiring as a Captain in 1995 after the Oklahoma City Bombing. He then went on to drive a school bus for Putnam City Schools. Bob truly never met a stranger and would often stop to help someone he saw was in need. He was a captivating storyteller and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob was a lover of life and family who was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Keith and Dick.
He is survived by his wife, Ophelia Klopfenstein; daughters, LaNita Jacobs and husband Bill, and Karen Klopfenstein; grandchildren, William Jacobs III and Ronnie Jacobs and Courtney Ford; great grandson, Hayden Ford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 10am-12pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
Graveside service will be at 3:30pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at Arapaho Cemetery.
