Mustang resident, Rovena Lynnette Thacker, 75, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 just one week after her beloved husband, Eddie Carroll Thacker. Lynnette was born in Oklahoma City, OK on October 5, 1944 to Elward Royce and Jessie Marie (Ballard) Walker. Lynette was a lifetime resident of Oklahoma City. She was a graduate of Putnam City High School, although she was a proud student of Northwest Classen. She worked at Western Electric for over 15 years where she was a circuit board welder.
Lynnette was a quiet and private person who loved to read and watch musicals, much to the dislike of Eddie. She enjoyed going with the guys on hunting trips. On one trip the guys had been out most of the day, and hadn’t seen a single deer, when they approached the campsite there set Lynnette feeding Fritos to the very deer they’d been hunting. Her family was her pride and joy. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was like a second mother to her grandson, Christopher. Lynnette was a adoptive mother to most of Carol’s friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Eddie. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Winterland; grandson, Christopher Thacker; granddaughter, Kayla Winterland; great grandson, Joseph Thacker; great granddaughter, Raven Thacker; Brother, Elward Walker, Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
