Preston M. Boyd, 64, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020. He was born November 23, 1955 in Lansing, Michigan. He was adopted as an infant by his parents, Cecil and Vivian (Richardson) Boyd. Preston had a childhood that was unimaginable by most people. He lost both of his parents at a young age and turned to a life of addiction. He struggled, he fought, he won. Eventually he overcame his addictions with the help of Teen Challenge and through the power of Jesus Christ. He recently celebrated 30 years of sobriety. Preston worked his way up to be the Director of Teen Challenge in Phoenix. He was also the Manager of the San Diego Training Center, which is a faith based drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. For anyone that knew Preston, you knew two things for sure. He loved his Lord with all of his heart, and he loved his family. Yes, he had tattoos and piercings; yes, he loved his Harley; but he was the kindest and most gentlest of souls. He had a true servants heart and would not hesitate to pray with someone who looked like they were in need of peace and healing, or simply a kind word. Preston was blessed with three beautiful daughters, Crystal, April, and Tiffany. Then he married the love of his life, Nina, on May 14, 2011, and was blessed with three more daughters, Cara, Mallory, and Jana. Preston was a man of many talents and passions. He was a commercial painter, a handyman, Santa Claus, a biker, a Christ Follower, a Servant, a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, and a Friend. He will forever be loved and greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Nina Boyd; daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Martin Weir, April Boyd, Tiffany (Boyd) and Kyle Halverson, Cara Manuel, Mallory and Jeremiah Parris, and Jana and Ryan Griffis; grandchildren, Hailey, Elizabeth, Brenden, Wyatt, and Jackson. Rather than send flowers, please consider making a donation in Preston’s name to the San Diego Training Center, sdtrainingcenter.org.
