Phillip “Craig” Conley, age 60, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 26, 1962 in Oklahoma City to Phillip and Glenna (Thacker) Conley. Craig grew up in the Bethany area and would graduate from Living Word Academy in Oklahoma City. Craig attended OC in Edmond, OK briefly and then began working at TG&Y where his love of computers began. He then moved to Hertz and worked for many years before taking a job in California with Hewlett Packard. Craig had recently moved back to Oklahoma City where he continued working for Dignity Health. Anyone that knew Craig knew how incredibly smart, selfless, and generous he was. He donated his time and money to several charities and spoiled his family rotten. Craig had the best sense of humor and a smile that would light up the room. He loved to shop on Amazon and was affectionately called “Captain Swipe-It” by his family. Craig was an avid Oklahoma State University football fan and a Green Bay Packers ‘cheesehead”. Craig thought Lambeau Field was heaven on earth. He loved to travel and some of his favorite places were Hawaii, Alaska and going to the CES Conference in Las Vegas. He was looking forward to visiting his niece in Germany.
He was often heard saying the phrase, “Incipit vita nova”, which means, “Thus begins new life”. While Craig is beginning his new life in Heaven, we will hold our memories close and ask that you share your memories with us at www.billmerrittfuneralservice.com.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Leslie Goode; wife, Kristine Sommer Conley; sons, Jackob and Wiley Drummond; niece, Lindsey Polach; nephew, Taylor Goode; great nieces and nephews, Brenndon Goode, Madison Balthrop and Dylan Balthrop; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Craig’s Celebration of Life will be held 2pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
