Patrick L. McKay, age 63 died Easter Sunday morning, April 4th due to complications from congestive heart failure. He was born September 24, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leonard and Leona McKay, who preceded him in death. As a young boy Patrick moved with his family to the Chicago area where he resided for six years, and then at the age of seven he moved with his family to a 300 acre ranch six miles east of McAlester, OK. Pat completed grade school and high school in McAlester and enlisted in the US Army’s 95th Training Division. He attended basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and remained in the Army Reserve for six years finishing his military career as a Drill Sergeant. He was employed many years with savings and loan associations, and commercial banks, and specialized in investigating credit card fraud. He enjoyed auto racing, was a member of the Sports Car Club of America, and served as a race official for several years at the Hallet Motor Racing Circuit in Jennings, OK. He is survived by his wife and companion for over 30 years, Patricia; one son, Chris; and one brother, Jim, of Edmond, OK. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 9th at the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel.
