Michael Lawrence Trantham

Michael Lawrence Trantham passed away at home in Bethany on Tuesday August 31st at the age of 50. Mike was born July 13th, 1971 in Oklahoma City to Bill and Carolyn Trantham. Carolyn passed away in 1981. Mike attended Western Oaks and Piedmont Elementary Schools. He attended and played football at Piedmont High School, after moving to Tahlequah he graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1989. He then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah for 2 years. Mike worked in car sales and hospitality and was last employed with OG&E in customer service. He lived briefly in Detroit, Baton Rouge and Dallas. Mike loved music, old movies and dogs. He was very soft hearted with animals, always taking in lost or injured animals caring for them or finding them homes. He described himself as a “Friendly Bear”, being a big guy with a soft heart. Mike married Jennifer in 1997. Jennifer passed away 2002. He is survived by his father and step-mom Bill and Rita Trantham of Bethany, sisters Tana and Lori, grandmother Marie Clay, aunt and uncle, Dona Clay Wallace and husband, Don from Mc Kinney, TX Texas.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
