Mary Edwardine Howl, 91, died May 8, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Dec. 8, 1921 to William and Agnes Howl in Oklahoma City. She became an RN. She received a degree in nursing at St. Mary’s, Notre Dame, Indiana and became a Holy Cross sister. After 40 years as a sister, she came back to OKC and worked for 18 years as night supervisor at Veterans Hospital. Later she retired to live at St. Ann’s Retirement Center.
Survivors include 4 brothers, Bill of Spring Valley, CA, Dick of Tulsa, OK, Bob of Port Washington, WI, David of Oklahoma City, OK, 3 sisters, Kate LeBeouf of Palm Springs, CA, Rita Whitcomb of Fairfview Hts, IL, Jeanette Daschbach of Bryon, OH and many extended family members.
Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2013 from 12 noon to 5 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Retirement Center at 10 AM, Saturday , May11,2013, 7501 W. Britton Rd, with Father Grimes officiating. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
