Marilyn Dianne Cross died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 17, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Marilyn is survived by her children, Patty Duke-Knoll of Broken Arrow, Michael Wellner of Yukon, Jamie Wellner of Yukon and Jennifer Brumbaugh of Cashion; sisters Carol Davis of Yukon, Judy Cochran of Moore, Vicki Stookey of Oklahoma City, Linda Holland of Oklahoma City and Kathy Munn of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Chris Duke of Oklahoma City, Scott Duke of Eugene, Oregon, Sloane Wellner of Oklahoma City, Kaleb Wellner of Oklahoma City, Abby Brumbaugh of Yukon, Clay Brumbaugh of Norman, and Bodi Wellner of Yukon; great-grandchildren Scarlet Duke of Eugene, Oregon, and Enoch Duke of Oklahoma City. In addition, it is important to mention how important her large and loving extended family was to her; with many brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their children and how much she loved each and every one of them. She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Cross of Yukon, her son, Robert Wellner of Yukon, and her parents Pauline Morgan (Rogers) and Carroll D. Morgan. Marilyn was born on January 2, 1945 in Gracemont-Caddo County, Oklahoma to Pauline Morgan (Rogers) and Carroll D. Morgan. Marilyn was a loving and dedicated homemaker and mother. She was a witty and caring woman who loved her family, Oklahoma University football and NASCAR. She had a fondness for all types of music, nature documentaries, cinnamon spinwheels, and her collection of dolls. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in her garden and taking care of her loyal pup, Echo.
A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. on October 22, 2020 at Bill Merritt Funeral Home, with graveside service to follow at Bethany Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marilyn’s life.
