

Lisa Ann Coats Weeden passed away December 26, 2017 in her home at the age of 56. She was born February 21, 1961 to Herschell Allen and Charlotte Juree Scott Coats. Lisa was born and raised Southern Baptist and was heavily involved in the church throughout her life. At the age of 11, her Daddy bought her a flute. She joined the school band and it changed her life. She began taking lessons from a professional about her sophomore year of high school. He wanted her to submit an audition tape to American Youth in Concert. There are only three chosen from each state and Lisa was one of the three representing Oklahoma. Those chosen toured and performed four months around Europe. Lisa’s Daddy offered a choice of financing the Europe trip or buying her a new car. At 18 years old, she chose the trip. Lisa attended Central State University where she earned a master’s degree in Music Education. She performed three recitals in Tennessee and several in Oklahoma City. She also gave private lessons in flute, piano and piccolo. She played in church from her high school years throughout her life. Lisa married Michael Edward Weeden on August 4, 1984 in Oklahoma City. She leaves behind those to celebrate her life; husband Michael of the home, mother-in-law, Alma Weeden, brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Gayle Weeden of McAlester, OK, aunts, Marguerite Howell of Rush Springs, Mary Meadows and Ruth Peterson and husband, Harold of Mustang, OK, Dixie Melton and husband, Jack of Sulphur, Ok, Cousin(sister to Lisa) Marsha lackey of Ardmore, OK along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Lisa is preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Billy Weeden.
