Leslie John Provine was born April 23, 1922 in Lawton Oklahoma to John Robert Provine and Mary Jane (Lasater) Provine. Leslie was blessed to grow up with brothers and sisters. He attended and graduated from Lawton High School. Leslie served as Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II along with performing his military service at various military installations in the United States and overseas. He met and married Elizabeth Virginia Stauffer on January 18, 1945. Leslie and Elizabeth were married for over 60 years. They had three children, Elizabeth Ann Miller, Robert Thomas Provine and Carol Lynn Provine. Leslie and Elizabeth were blessed with Grandkids, Great Grandkids and Great-Great Grandkids.
Leslie retired from Tinker Air Force Base with 38 years of service. Leslie was responsible for the procurement, distribution, maintenance, and replacement of materials and personnel in the repair and building of Military Aircraft at Tinker Field Air Force Base. Leslie received various awards for his job performance.
Leslie enjoyed going out to eat with his family, working in his yard, working on his house and watching old movies. Leslie enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and was most content staying at home. Leslie was able to stay at his home until the last week of his life. Leslie was 92 years old when he passed away.
Graveside Services for Leslie John Provine will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 08, 2014 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Arrangements under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Service, Bethany, OK.
