LaVera Vivian Eudy passed away November 4, 2024 in Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 100. LaVera was born January 9, 1924 in Seiling, Ok to Walter Ray and Rachel Hazel(Haffner) Fipps. LaVera came from the "can do" generation and she did! She began her journey graduating from Cosmetology School in Enid, Ok in 1936. She then worked at Tinker AFB as a parachute packer. LaVera and her friend, Ruth, decided to ride a motorcycle to the shipyards on the San Francisco Bay. She became a "Rosie the Riveter" for McDonnell Douglas. She came back to OKC and bought a diner in downtown OKC where she met her future husband, Guy Eudy. They married in 1946. They had 2 children Shirley Ann and Gary Lee. Guy was working for Delaney Furniture and LaVera went to work for Sears Catalogue Department. After to moving to Vinita, Ft. Smith, and Burns Flat, they came home and started Eudy's Upholstery in 1974. They did that until 1998. She loved to fish and travel. LaVera was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister LaVina Maxfield and brother Tillman Fipps. She is survived by daughter Shirley Bickley and husband Art of Piedmont, Ok, son, Gary Eudy and wife JaNeen of Amarillo, Tx, 4 grandchildren, Sarah Griffin and husband Wade, Dustin Bickley and wife Cristal, Wende Liebert and husband Jason, and Colby Bickley and wife Amber, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Family suggests donations be made in LaVera's name to the Piedmont High School FFA, 1055 Edmond Rd. NW, Piedmont, Ok 73078.
A celebration of life for LaVera will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
A private burial will be held at the I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Watonga, OK.
