Joyce Ann Thrasher

Joyce Ann Thrasher passed peacefully on February 15, 2023. She was born September 19, 1938 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Roy E. and Sylvia B. Williams. After graduating from Seminole OK High School, she married Richard Lee “Dick” Thrasher on September 17, 1956. They spent the next 3 years in Germany, where Dick served in the Armed Forces.

Joyce was a librarian for many years in Neodesha, KS and Muskogee, OK. She worked and retired from the FBI in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and spending time with her family. She treasured every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She stayed in touch with fourteen of her high school girlfriends, ‘Amici Girls’, and they spent the summers vacationing together at various destinations across the country. They experienced wonderful life-long memories.

Survivors include her son, Greg Thrasher of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Luke Drullinger of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren, Kaleena and Jaimie Thrasher, Jordan and Ashley Drullinger; and four great grandchildren, Aiden, Kaydence, Adriel and Paisley; and her sister, Donna Kay Jones of Oklahoma City, OK.

Joyce was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Dick and her sister, Francine Gray.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from Noon to 8:00 PM at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 Northwest 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. A graveside services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, 7801 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
