Sue spent her working years as a cafeteria manager at Ranchwood Elementary School in Yukon. She loved working with children and was honored to have spent many years as the "lunch lady" for the staff and students. Sue was a very caring and giving person who loved to cook for everyone. She had an expertise in and passion for baking.
Sue’s life revolved around her family. She and her husband Benny spent many days in their travel trailer visiting loved ones. They spent much of their free time telling stories and fishing with the kids at Lake Eufaula. It was rumored that Sue was a much better fisherman than Benny. Although it’s hard to know for sure, because every time Sue told a fishing story the fish she caught would increase in size.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Benny Edward Owens; son, Rick Owens and his wife Deb; son-in-law, Ted Gray; brothers, Bill, Bobby, and Kenneth Jones; sisters-in-laws, Barbara, Alice Jo, and Linda Jones; seven grandsons; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
