Elizabeth Adamek Pierce, 84, of Oklahoma City, OK passed from this life of December 11, 2016. Service have been entrusted to the care of Bill Merritt Funeral Home and a graveside service celebrating her life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Ft. Sill National Cemetery. Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 14 from 12 pm to 8 pm with the family greeting friends at the funeral home from 6-7pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born January 5, 1932 in Cairnbrook, PA to Stephen and Eva (Gregor) Adamek. She attended schooling in the Shade Township School District. Following her high school graduation, Elizabeth enlisted in the United States Army. She dedicated the next 20 yrs of her life to honorably serving her country both stateside and abroad. She served as an administrative assistant and instructor in Japan and the Korean Theatre during the Korean War.
Upon her honorable discharge from the US Army in 1971, she relocated to Oklahoma and began working in an administrative role with the OKC Police Dept. A short time later she met and married Sammy Pierce. Sammy and Elizabeth owned Sammy Pierce Trucking in Oklahoma City before later divorcing. Several years later she retired from the OKCPD which gave her more time to visit family and enjoy her hobbies. Elizabeth was a generous and independent woman who loved her pets, gardening, and taking bus tours with her friends. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, the VFW Post 1335, and she spent 10 yrs volunteering at Tinker AFB. She brought much joy to the lives of those she touched and she will be remembered for her dedication to her country and her kind and loving nature.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Eva Adamek, 5 siblings: Paul Adamek, Michael Adamek, Ann Trachok, twin sister Christine Hill, and John Adamek, as well as a sister-in-law Kathryn Adamek. She is survived by her sister Susan Davies and husband Tom of Hagerstown, MD, and a brother Steve Adamek Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Terri Duppstadt, Kristine Hostetler, Tom Davies, Jeffery Davies, and John Davie, Julie Adamek, Steve Adamek III, and Michael Adamek.
