Diana Gay White entered into life March 17, 1938 in Manilla, Indiana at her Grandmother’s by midwife. Later her family moved to Columbia, Missouri. Her Father was in the military and when he was honorably discharged, the family went to Oklahoma City. Diana was in the second grade. While the family lived in Oklahoma City, Diana attended West Nichols Hills Grade School and Harding Junior High. The family moved to San Pablo Brazil and lived there for two years before moving back to Oklahoma City for Diana’s Senior Year. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1956. Diana attended Oklahoma A & M for one year. While at Oklahoma A & M (now O.S.U.) Diana was elected for Freshman Queen for Zeta Tau Alpha in 1957. She worked for a year before marrying Ray and moving to Fort Worth, Texas in May 1958. From this union came their beautiful daughter, Juli. The marriage dissolved and later Diana married Joe White. They were married for several years. After the marriage ended, Diana remained single. Diana was insurance agent for several years in the OKC area.
Diana was a proud Nanny to Chelsee, a student of O.S.U. (which made her Nanny very proud) & Tanner, a Senior at Newcastle High School. She loved her daughter & grandchildren. She also loved butterflies, gardening, needle point & croqueting. She was a member of Clark United Methodist Church. Diana is survived by her loving daughter and son in law, Juli and Michael Gatlin of Newcastle, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Chelsee Gatlin and Tanner Gatlin of Newcastle, Oklahoma; her brother, Hughston Elijah of Oklahoma City and nephew, Chad Elijah of Oklahoma City.
A Celebration of Diana's life will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Westmoore Community Church of Oklahoma City.
