Clyde L Watson Hanger Jr., also known as Rusty, passed away on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at the age of 65. He was born December 13th, 1957 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Clyde L Watson Hanger Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Watson Hanger (Bond). His family moved to Oklahoma City, Ok in 1959 to be closer to Clyde L's family in Norman, OK. He graduated High School at Putnam City West in 1977.
Rusty had grown an interest in electronics, computers, and space exploration in his young adult life. He had worked with his brother, Bobby Hanger, on the assembly line at Seagate for 3 years. Sometime later, he was hired as a slot machine repair person when he moved to Las Vegas, NV to begin his training. Repairing slot machines was Rusty's dream job working at major casinos in Las Vegas.
Sadly, he fell seriously ill on his way to Las Vegas from Oklahoma City and was not heard from for almost two weeks. His dad, Clyde L Sr., drove to Las Vegas where he had been found to be lying deathly ill on the couch for several days. If it weren't for his dad showing up, we might have lost him then. He obtained permanent brain damage from that event causing him to apply for disability and live with his parents.
Rusty has always been the comedian of the family with his light-hearted jokes that kept people around him smiling and laughing. Rusty loved to travel every chance he got with his parents and siblings on every road trip they made. They would take off in the van for several weeks at a time usually stopping at casinos along the way.
He was always helpful and pleasant and loved listening to classic rock music. His love for family and technology was a constant throughout his life. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church which he went to nearly every Sunday with his father.
He passed peacefully in the presence of his family. He is survived by his brother Robert Hanger (Bobby), sister Ann Elizabeth Decker, nephew Steve Decker, niece Patricia (Patti) Decker and her partner Anna Hughes, and Peanut, the family lap dog.
