Charlotte Madeline Belveal Brown Grueser passed away at home on March 16, 2021 at the age of 98. The youngest of 11 children, she was born May 2, 1922 in Cushing, Ok to Charles Alonza “Lon” and Henrietta “Etta” Raub Belveal. Charlotte grew up in Cushing and attended Cushing High school. She worked at Novel Ideas for several years and then retired from Seagate after working there for 10 years. She was a long time member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church and she taught Sunday School for a number of years. Charlotte loved games of any kind, cards, dominos, board games, Cardinals, Redbirds, family, OU Football and Basketball, OKC Thunder, Pepsi, and her fur babies. She was in a bowling league for many years. It was where she met her 2nd husband Roy. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for her daughters and nieces. She would go window shopping with her daughters and her oldest Barbara would tell her mother, she liked a certain blouse, but wanted the collar from a different shirt and would pick out cuffs from yet another shirt. Charlotte would go home and go thru her patterns and make the blouse for Barbara with all the different features she had pointed out while shopping. She even made her granddaughters wedding dress. She also loved to crochet and made many different things like doilies, collars and even tablecloths. In later years she made quilts for her daughters and grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings: Hazel Annis McLaury, Erma Viola Seybert, Albert Jefferson Belveal , Murrie Alonzo Belveal, Edgar Marion Belveal, Robert “Ray” Belveal, Issac “Ike” Evertt Belveal, Ethel Leona Morgan, Rhoda Mae Somers , Juanita Pauline Pogue, spouses: George Evan Brown, Jr. and Robert Roy Grueser, children: Holly Smith, Bill Wolff, and grandchildren: Jenean Gayle Wolff and Julie Anne Frantz. She is survived by children: Barbara Jean Wolff, Peggy Louise Kloehn, Robin & Renee Grueser, Heather & Bob Echola, grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Wolff & Rhonda Neumayer, Billy Scott & Maria Wolff, Cyndi & Tim Elmore, Kelly Diane & John Lane, Angie Beth Wolff & Jeff Hall, Darren Smith, Eric Smith, Samantha Hobie and Vincent., great grandchildren: David B. Ingram, Jacob Wolff, Robert Wolff, Misty, Kimberly, Jessica, Taylor, Sarah & Tony Wilmoth, Brenna & Nehemiah Reese, Carson Lane, Gavin Lane, Kirstin Cox, Joseph Mancuso, Cole Mancuso, Reece Mancuso great great grandchildren: Nicholas M. Ingram, Harper M. Ingram, A.J. & Cassie Sorensen and numerous others including great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and cousins.
She told her daughter Peggy when she was 94: She was ready to go and she knew where she was going. She wanted us to just remember the good times we had with her.
