Carolyn Sue Taylor

Carolyn Sue Taylor, age 80, passed away November 7, 2022. She was born August 25, 1942 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Carl and Alice (Fulkerson) Tanner. When Carolyn was a young girl, her family moved to the Oklahoma City area. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School. Carolyn attended Paul's Beauty College right out of high school and went to work in her mother Alice's beauty shop, Tanner's Beauty salon in 1961. She was also a drug recovery volunteer, a legal assistant, an income tax preparer, a beauty shop owner, a caregiver for her mother after she had a stroke, and a red cross CPR instructor. Her education included Paul's Beauty College, UCO Bachelor's in Psychology, Legal Assistant program at Rose State, 18 hours of finance at UCO, and a tax preparation course. She was very creative and enjoyed bead working and making jewelry. Carolyn was an amazingly strong and independent woman who raised three boys as a single mother. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Vickie Taylor, Randy and Debbie Taylor, and Ray Taylor; grandchildren Brandy and Josh Dover, Haleigh and Carlos Kennery, Carley and Colten Moore, Whitnee Kunschik, Edward Smith, Amber and Logan Taylor; great-grandchildren, James, Gerald, & Skyly Dover, Carver & Hildie Kenney, Ivy Alice and Noah Taylor Moore, Nathaniel, Brylee, and Ezra Smith.
