Brenda Sue Bateman

Brenda Sue Bateman, age 55 passed away suddenly Monday, October 16,2017. She was born in Oklahoma City to Kenneth and Mary (Chadwick) Bateman and was the youngest of three children. Brenda attended Bethany Public Schools. She was in the band for 6 years. Through the years she played many different instruments. She was Band Queen her senior year. Brenda was also in the 12 Year Club. After graduation from high school, Brenda earned a degree from Conner's State College in Equine Technology. She was a member of the Canadian Valley Rangerettes serving as Queen for several years. She has recently completed 8 years of service at the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by one sister, Cathy Oliphant, brother-in-law, Robert Oliphant, one brother, Calvin Bateman, sister-in-law, Dawn Bateman, three nieces, Charity Bowen and husband Adam Bowen, Carrie Oliphant and Kendie Eisenman and husband, Trent Eisenman and one nephew, Thomas Bateman, one great-niece and two great-nephews, one paternal Aunt and Uncle, Freda and Jack Wishall and one maternal Aunt and Uncle, JoAnn and Glen Arms and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur,OK at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Service, Bethany, OK.
