Angela Leigh Garner’s light began shining on Dec. 23, 1970 where she shined bright and vibrant for 47 years. Her spirit left this earthly world on Sept. 26, 2018 and her family and many friends are still reeling from losing her so suddenly. We all know that Angie would want everyone to carry-on her sunny spirit and zest for life. She deeply loved Chris Leland and his two daughters, Sydney and Ryan. She felt like the luckiest girl the day they came into her life. She had an incredibly close bond with her mom Marsha Mountford aka Big Momma. She loved her beeby sister Erin Spring, adored her nephew Jaylon, and nieces Jaida and Jernie. She gained her “kid” Kanisha in 2015 and loved her like her own. Angie was a rock to so many and her force could not be denied. Her smile lit up a room. She made everything fun. You could meet her once and she would be your lifelong friend. She loved any type of music but especially live bands and made many friends in the local music scene. She loved all animals, had a special place in her heart for greyhounds, and refused to kill a spider. She appreciated all types of food and never turned down a good dessert. She was a master “selfie” taker and loved capturing pictures with her friends and family and had over 13,000 pictures on her phone, many of which documented her adventures with Granny and we can only imagine the escapades they are getting into together today. Angie worked as a funeral director for 18 years, helping families through the most difficult times of their life and leaving an impact on so many. In 2013 she went to work for Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank and helped the company grow over the last few years to provide the gift of sight to hundreds of people a year. Angie was welcomed into heaven in her daddy Frank Mountford’s loving arms who taught her that “essence is greater than time by far”. Angie’s essence was undeniable and we will miss her forever. A celebration of Angie’s life will be held Oct 9th at Tower Theatre at 6:00pm.
