Milan, NH Muriel J. Binette, age 70, of Overlook Road passed away surrounded by her family in the evening hours of May 5, 2010 at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, FL following a short illness.
Muriel was born in Rumford, ME on August 20, 1939, the daughter of Alphonse and Jeanne (Frechette) Pomerleau. Muriel married Raymond G. Binette, Sr., and the two went on to raise five children.
Muriel was co-founder and vice-president of Ray’s Electric, Inc., in Berlin, NH with her husband Raymond G. Binette, Sr., in which she was still active for over 52 years, including their sons. She also owned and operated Muriel’s Restaurant, M.R.’s Blueberry Heaven both in Milan and part owner of White Mountain Suites.
She enjoyed spending time with her family at her summer home at Nay Pond and at her winter home in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Her enjoyments included painting with oil and acrylic paints, knitting, cross-country skiing, bingo, playing cards, loved to cook and bake, traveling including cruises, golfing, dancing, boating, & shopping. She enjoyed preparing big meals for family gatherings.
Muriel will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family; she was a very loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister Suzanne Day, and two brothers Rene Louvat and Maurice Louvat all of Rumford, ME.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years Raymond G. Binette, Sr of Milan and their children: Raymond G. Binette, Jr., and his wife Molly of Concho, AZ, Debra A. Davis and her husband Arnold of Milan, NH, Denis R. Binette and his wife Laurie of Milan NH , Diane M. Montelin and her husband James of Milan, NH and Steven M. Binette and his wife Penny of Milan NH. She also leaves a sister Cecile Bigl and her husband Steven of Berlin, NH; 13 Grandchildren, Katie Halle, Zachary Binette, Chantal Bedard, Auston J. (AJ) Davis, Sarah Binette, Marissa Binette, Maegan Montelin, Justin Montelin, Dalton Binette, Rylie Binette, Jay Montelin, Shayna Donato, and Samantha Donato. Three great- grandchildren Arayanna Bedard, Blake Bedard, and Conor Pryor. Many nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 PM at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street in Berlin using the High Street entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin.
