Virginia Dell Carpenter Walker, known affectionately as Ginnie, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, at the age of 90. Born on November 4, 1933, in Burton, Michigan, she was a daughter to the late Plez Herman "P.H." Carpenter and Mary Evelyn Carpenter (née Warr). Ginnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Carl Carpenter, her son James Steven Trosper Morris, and her husband, Robert Walker.
Ginnie's life was marked by her boundless energy, love for her family, and a career that demonstrated her versatility and strong work ethic. After marrying right out of high school, she dedicated herself to raising her family and managing her household. Professionally, she served as an Office Manager at Humphries Company for 30 years and later as an Account Manager at Salesmark. Her career path also led her to work part-time for an accountant, substitute teaching, and managing rental properties. Her innate gift for management and teaching left a lasting impact on her family, inspiring similar paths in life and work.
She is survived by her loving son, David B. Trosper (Sherri), her daughter, Lisa Walker Gray (Edward), and her daughter in law Tina Morris; her grandchildren, Sundance Trosper (Robin), Reno Trosper (Stephanie), Sean O’Donnell (Emilyn), Lizzie Walker Neal (Cody), Jimmy Walker IV, Clair Gray, Eve Gray, and Rosemary Gray; and her six great-grandchildren. Ginnie's legacy of love and resourcefulness continues through her family, whom she adored immensely.
Ginnie was a people person who never met a stranger. Whether at the grocery store, a shopping center, church, or during neighborhood strolls, she was always making new friends. Her passion for cooking, exploring new gadgets, involvement in her church, and sharing love and smiles was evident to all who knew her. She remained vibrant and active throughout her life, embodying the spirit guided by her love for Christ.
A celebration of Ginnie's life will be held at North Tampa Church of Christ on Tuesday, August 27th, at 1:00 pm in Lutz, FL. Service will be held at Callison-Lough Funeral Home on September 22nd in Bentonville, AR from 1:00-3:00pm, with interment to follow at Bentonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or North Tampa Church of Christ, honoring her spirit of generosity and community involvement.
