Toby was a proud graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and spent much of his career at Chris’s Supper Club and Belmont Country Club. Cooking was his passion, and cooking for other people was his favorite pastime. He knew anything and everything about food and enjoyed trying new dishes and restaurants.
Toby was also an avid reader. His favorite author was Edgar Rice Burroughs, but he enjoyed any good adventure novel. He loved all things Disney and was planning to visit Disneyland with his wife, Pat, this summer.
In 2020, Toby moved to Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife and son, Jerry, to be near his daughter Lisa and her family. After settling in, he began enjoying Northwest Arkansas’s biking community and many unique restaurants. Toby also enjoyed traveling with his wife—they had made several cross-country and international trips in 2021 and 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Herman; son, Jerry Herman; daughter, Lisa Geary (Nathan), and their children Teddy and Jack; and two brothers, Bruce and David Herman of Ohio.
Toby’s family held a private ceremony in Bentonville, Arkansas. Online condolences can be made at www.callisonloughfh.com.
