He was born September 25, 1949 in Berryville, Arkansas and grew up in Eureka Springs, Arkansas running up and down the steep hills of the town on his extremely long legs. He put that running ability to good use on the Eureka Springs Junior High and High School Basketball and Track Teams. He earned a basketball scholarship to Wichita State where, unsurprising to his friends and family familiar with his rapscallion ways, his career as a college athlete abruptly ended due to high jinks. Rodney quickly rebounded and lived a life full of the Lord's blessings.
Rodney proudly served his country in the US Army in Viet Nam and was honored to be recognized and thanked for his service by people in the community who saw him wearing his Viet Nam Veteran cap.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father, Frank Paul Studyvin, his mother Reba Pyatt, his stepfather Harry Pyatt, his daughter Tiffani Denise Studyvin and a son, Paul Alexander Studyvin. Rodney is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie Studyvin (nee: Winkleman) of the home, son Clayton Studyvin and his wife Kacey Studyvin, two granddaughters, Aubrey Lane Studyvin and Ainsley Cooper Studyvin all of Bentonville, a brother Linn Pyatt, of Eureka Springs, and a wonderful joyous jumble of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A graveside celebration and thanksgiving of God's Blessings will be Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Rogers Arkansas Cemetery officiated by Pastor Eric Longman with burial arrangements held by Callison-Lough of Bentonville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Sunday School Program, 1101 W.
