He served in the US Army in Korea. He retired from Tyson Foods and Ron Blackwell Ford.
He grew on a large farm near Vaughn attending school in the old Vaughn school house. He learned early to work hard. He was a dedicated family man who love gardening, music, and cars. He had a quick sense of humor and enjoyed being with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife Beverly Sue (Mathis) Byers, sisters Veva Seville, LaRue Foster, Brothers Glen and Jack Byers.
He is survived by his son Burt Byers of Rogers; daughters Dena Mayes (Richard) of Bella Vista, AR, Anne LaRue Phillips (Dwayne) of Rogers, AR; brothers Roy Byers (Betty) of Bella Vista, AR, John Byers (Patricia) of Bullhead City, AZ; sisters Clara Houston of Las Vegas, NV, LaVon Hauser (Don) of Palm Springs CA, Sue Ellen (Tom) Lee of Praire Grove, AR; grandchildren Jessieca Davenport, La Randa Phillips, Peter Pulvirenti, Alyson Johnson and a Great- grandchild, Emma Davenport.
Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2018 from 5-7PM at Callison Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 10AM in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Gravette, AR.
Burial will follow at Coffelt Cemetery in Vaughn, AR.
