Michael Campbell, age 48, of Bentonville, went home to be with his Lord while surrounded by his family, on Friday, December 10, 2010. He was a loving husband and father, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mike was born in Rogers on November 18, 1962, a son of John and Loretta Sue (Chase) Campbell. He graduated Rogers High School in 1981, after which he attended the University of Arkansas and Tennessee Tech. He enjoyed working on, racing and riding motorcycles, was an avid golfer and went hunting and fishing as often as he was able. He took time to play baseball, soccer, basketball and football with his sons, and attended their sporting events faithfully. He was a machinist and engineer with Preformed Line Products for over twenty-five years, a lifelong resident of Benton County and was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Carla Jo Woods Campbell of the home; sons, Harrison and Jackson Campbell; his mother, Loretta Sue Campbell of Rogers; siblings, John and Caroline Campbell and their children Allisha and Sarah, Doug and Andrea Campbell and their children Nicholas and MaKenna; cousin, Kim and Roger Easley and their children Taylor and Logan; brother and sister-in-law Travis and Kathryn Woods and their daughter Samantha Linn.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Alton Campbell; and grandparents, Doyce Campbell, Niva Chase, and Dixie Campbell Wingert.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 3364 W. Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers, officiated by Pastor Scott Hill. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ron Austin, Jerry Brust, Tommy Hall, Dan Harryman, Jim Hatcher, Jerry Johnson, Bill Sutton, and Dickey West. Honorary pallbearers will be John Campbell, Doug Campbell, Gary Woods, Travis Woods, Andy Woods, Richard Peters, and George Merrill.
